Four Seasons Hotel Moscow has transformed into a vibrant holiday fairytale in the very heart of the capital. For the seventh year in a row, the renowned decorating company Lid’s Eventhouse has crafted the hotel’s festive design. This season, the concept embraces warm Russian tones, national symbols, traditional folk motifs, and enchanting allegories.
A warming red palette evokes comfort after the winter frost and symbolizes good fortune in the New Year. Carved figures, delicate patterns, and multilayered woodwork unfold as if by a wave of a magic wand.
The centerpiece of the transformation is an arcade of portals featuring fiery horses in the lobby, inviting guests into a fairytale world. Beyond it stands a central ensemble of festive fir trees—the most striking among them crafted from bright red rosehips, complete with a carved window framed by shutters and a golden squirrel.
Not only the entrance and lobby have been transformed—the hotel’s key spaces also radiate festive spirit. At Silk Lounge, arrangements featuring Matryoshka dolls and winter trees set a celebratory mood. In Moskovsky Bar, a contemporary and refined installation showcases red glass drops, each handcrafted as a one-of-a-kind piece at a glass factory in Egypt.
On the second floor, a children’s photo zone welcomes guests as they exit the elevator. Shimmering miniature fir trees and patterned horses evoke a warm sense of home. At Bystro, the breakfast restaurant, an elegant composition of red and gold roosters takes center stage. A grand Matryoshka-themed photo zone leads into Quadrum, the Italian restaurant, where a festive tree—glimmering in the season’s colors—greets guests inside.
According to Pavel Koblikov, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Moscow, preparations for the holiday season began as early as the previous February. Nearly every department of the hotel took part in the creative collaboration with Lid’s Eventhouse, each contributing a piece of their heart.
Lidia Simonova, founder and chief decorator of Lid’s Eventhouse, adds: “For our team, preparations for the next New Year usually begin just as our clients return from their holiday break.” A fairytale takes time—but when experience (21 years, in the case of Lid’s Eventhouse), inspiration, and genuine passion come together, magic becomes reality.
The hotel’s signature motifs also inspired the desserts at the Christmas Market by Pastry Chef Igor Melnikov. His team used 3D modeling to create molds for chocolate horses and Matryoshka figures adorned with folk patterns. Chocolate bonbons, caramel rooster lollipops, and chocolate bars shaped like carved shutters are enchanting down to the smallest detail. Guests can enjoy these treats with tea overlooking the festive Manezhnaya Square or take them home in signature packaging.
Celebrate the holidays at Four Seasons Hotel Moscow and become part of our fairytale. From the panoramic windows and balconies of our rooms and restaurants, guests enjoy dazzling views of the Kremlin and even Red Square. Bathed in holiday lights, these majestic symbols of the capital feel like part of the magic.
