Ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival – one of the most significant celebrations in China – Four Seasons Hotel Moscow will become a meeting point for two gastronomic cultures. The hotel will welcome Atlantis Sanya Pastry Chef Billy Xu, who will join forces with Executive Pastry Chef Igor Melnikov to share the story of the Moon Festival with guests through the taste, form and artistry of chocolate.
At the heart of the collaboration is the mooncake, a symbol of the Mid-Autumn Festival and a centuries-old tradition that brings families together around the table. The chefs will create their contemporary interpretation of the classic mooncake, bringing together the tropical spirit of Sanya and the distinctive gastronomic character of Moscow. The new mooncake will be available at the Silk Lounge restaurant.
For Quadrum restaurant, the chefs will create a special dessert inspired by the traditions of the festival and reimagined through the aesthetics of contemporary pastry. Their meeting will culminate in a large-scale chocolate sculpture – a creation where craftsmanship, imagination and the art of chocolate come together in a single form. Its final design will remain a surprise for guests.
The desserts created by the chefs especially for the festival will be available to guests from 25 September.
